Tayla is a first-year graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology at Baylor University, currently working as an SLP-A serving preschool through high school students. An active NSSLHA member and advocate, she is passionate about breaking down barriers and eliminating disparities in neuroaffirming care. Her research focuses on identifying parental readiness and equipping families—particularly those with special needs and in Title 1 communities—with the tools to support language development at home. She also explores the role of fine arts in language growth, challenging traditional intervention models and advocating for approaches that celebrate diverse communication styles.
