R. Jordan Hazelwood, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, CCRE, is an assistant professor of speech-language pathology at Appalachian State University. She’s a Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (BCS-S) and is the former professional development manager for ASHA’s SIG 13: Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia). Dr. Hazelwood’s research focuses on the impact standardization of dysphagia assessment on the quality of life of people with swallowing disorders and supports dysphagia training and education for students and clinicians. hazelwoodrj@appstate.edu
