Seminar: Utilizing Student Leadership to Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in CSD Disciplines

November 20, 3:00-4:00 p.m., EST.
CC, Room 204AB

2021 ASHA Convention Planner: Session Info

Student leaders have a unique opportunity to influence the future of the communication sciences and disorders (CSD) field and ensure that tomorrow’s clinicians demonstrate cultural competence, responsiveness, and humility in their professional practice. This session focuses on developing leadership skills related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as students and future clinicians in CSD.

National NSSLHA’s Executive Council and National Advisor will guide attendees through critical thinking exercises to develop a framework for inclusive leadership. You’ll explore resources and opportunities to better serve culturally and linguistically diverse populations as students. And you’ll be empowered to support DEI initiatives at the organizational and institutional levels and leave a lasting impact on our professions.
